The nature around Tibberuphus and the café

  • The bird life at Solbjerg Engsø, including
regular, sometimes daily visits by sea eagles, ospreys, vipers, etc.

  • Follow the path along Solbjerg Engsø by foot and find traces of the beavers.

  • Many good hiking trails in the woods of Gribskov with loops back to Tibberuphus from 1½ km and upwards. Ask for a map of the forest in the café.

  • Cycle path 32 between Hillerød and Tisvilde passes right by. This is a wonderful bike ride across the countryside, which ends at the ice cream shop on the beach front in Tisvildeleje.

Tibberuphus - history and future

The beautiful old house from 1799 has over the years housed employees of the Danish Nature Agency and their families. However, the Nature Agency wanted alternative use of the house and has therefore made a lease agreement with the pilgrimage Tisvildevejen.

Tisvildevejen will use the house as a community house for local association and as a pit stop for wanderers on the hiking trail. It is expected to finish the restoration of the house in 2024, depending on the needed donations.

Haldbjerg Naturcampus will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Tibberuphus café.

The pilgrimage route Tisvildevejen

Tisvildevejen leads past Tibberuphus and Haldbjerg. At Haldbjerg Naturcampus we therefore support the development of the Tisvildevejen Association and Tibberuphus. We offer accomodation and catering for the guided walking tours and for those who plan their hikes individually. We hope that our collaboration will lead to even more people enjoying the nature around here, both in the woods of Gribskov and at Haldbjerg.
